Suffering from dry, itchy skin is a problem for women everywhere. It’s worse yet for those that must spend time outside in direct sunlight. Some of us just don’t have the time for the extra skin care that is needed to fight the condition. Choosing the right skin cream is essential for the best anti aging skin care.
When you are shopping for skin care products, always remember the law of cravat emptor (buyer beware!). Quality can vary tremendously in skin care creams. Some products, even the high-priced brand name products, contain things that are actually bad for dry skin.
Stay away from skin creams that list any type of alcohol on the label. Alcohol will actually remove moisture and make your skin even drier.
Avoid skin creams that “smell good”, as fragrance is a useless filler ingredient. Useless filler ingredients, like “a nice smell”, will do nothing for your dry skin.
Products that contain derivatives of natural products should also be avoided. One good example is dioxane, an artificial derivative of coconut cream. Long term use of creams containing dioxane has been linked to many different skin problems in some women.
Using a product that contains the “essence” of anything is also a bad idea. The essence of anything means that the ingredient is similar to that thing, but, is actually a man-made chemical. Instead, look for products that contain extracts, which are made from the real thing.
